Why does everything break at once.
 

The ranger just reached 130,000 miles and everything starting to break. Factory fuel pump died, 2nd set of leaf spring bushings were destroyed, rear upper shock mount snapped off. I get everything fixed and now my alternator dies this morning. The truck has a brand new belt, belt tensioner and Battery so its gotta be the alternator. Only good thing is my family own an auto parts store so parts are available and cheap for me. Okay, my rants over now.

sh!t happens. I had a good few months last summer....always replaceing crap. Always breaking something or somethign wearing out. was nuts. I was THIS close to selling the damn thing when it was doing that. it's just one of those things man....it happens.

Every single thing has been replaced on that truck now, and i mean everything. Except the motor, I haven't had any problems with it (knock on wood).

I have replaced almost everything on my truck too... 134,000 miles

I have the same problem right now with mine. Just put 1k into the front end, about $500 in the rear, I just found out one of my rear shocks has leaked most its oil out and the rest I can compress with one finger, trans has gotten tot he point that I am going to have to replace it very soon. The trucks been a money pit this summer. I just keep in mind that soon it will all be fixed for a couple of days.lol This has all happened within the last 4 weeks of summer. I have replaced several parts in every area of the truck now.

I have 176k miles

I'm going through the motions right now myself. Oil pan plug is stripped, so changing the oil is going to be fun. Just replaced all the routine maintenance stuff. Now I gotta do the rear shocks and fix my 4 wheel drive.

i dunno what to tell you all i have a 99 2.5 automatic with 147K or so on it and ive only replaced the sway bar links and bushings, two sets of the blower motor resistor, front shocks, brake pads in front several times, 2 batteries, fan belt once ( needs another one) and the timing belt. other than that its all original including the back brakes.... and i regularly beat the heck out of it as its a work truck.... is it possible you guys are beating your trucks too hard perhaps off road

I rebuilt the trans this summer, all new ball joints, sway bar links, tie rod ends, tourque converter, brakes, shocks, leaf spring bushings, hangers brackets. alternator and starter. and im on my 3rd front driveshaft. But I think its worth it. Everything is waranted for life now. Does anyone know if a superlift front driveshaft will work on a non-suspension lift truck. From my understanding, with the double u-joint style shaft you need 7 degree angle for the shaft to work. the single u joint only need 1-5 degree's to work?

164K miles, and here's my ongoing list of repairs

Front shocks- Have em, need to do em.

Drivers side window- disassemble and replace everything and re-align on the track

Fuel Filter- old and needs to be replaced

Front main seal- leaks like crazy, but never I never see a drastic drop in oil levels (knock on wood)

Front pinion seal

Transmission cooler line- leaks

Transmission service, possible flush

the list never ends. It's a Ford is all I have to keep saying...

Almost all 4.0L leak from the front timing cover seal. PITA to change without pulling motor.

Wow, this makes me realize that i should start saving my money for repairs on my truck haha. I have 103K miles and the only thing ive replaced is the Fuel filter and the IAC (which didnt even fix my problem by the way :P ) but now that i read all this im going to start saving my money for future problems haha.
