haha that's true, it definately says NO.

Terrence, as soon as I get back to Minnesota I'm going to try to get all my side windows tinted 5% and my rear window 20%(so i can see behind me). Hopefully a shop will do it since I'm not a MN vehicle and hopefully either the cops will think i'm a black rapper or i can get away because of my plates.

Where do you see it says they are legal, I have no idea.

What lenses are legal?
Q: Is it legal to have clear corner lenses on my car while driving? Also, would it be legal to have colored gel caps on those lights?

Mychal,
Rochester, MN

Mychal,

No to both.

Sgt. Curt S. Mowers
Public Information Office
MN State Patrol

Then there is this:
Are clear blinkers allowed on front of car?
Q: Hello, I was wondering if clear blinkers were allowed in the front of your car (by the headlights) if the side markers (by the door) were still amber.

Also, if somebody put green, or blue, or whatever color of small LED lights on the grill of their car, so that the headlights would drowned out all but a slight tint of that color, is that illegal?

Blake
Rosemount, MN

Blake,

According to Minnesota law, signal ("blinker") lights can be "white or amber, or any shade of color between white and amber". The LED lights would NOT legal.

That is alot of "differing opinions".

I guess it boils down to, that terrence could quote actual minnesota law and fight it in court.

Hey Terrence, have u ever been pulled over for you ranger? Just wondering, because Andy has, but i've driven across 394 and never ever been pulled over. So I'm wonderingn how much license plate makes a difference.

read it again... he states blinkers CAN BE white or amber or a color that is in between white and amber. therefore, yes, it is legal.

no, never been pulled over in the ranger, but, then everythings legal and i'm an old guy who's "reckless abandonment" days were back in 1983-1992. as for the plate, do you mean putting a front one on?

you guys are reading two different things

one says clear LENSES are illegal and the other says clear BLINKERS (the bulbs) can be clear

witch is true, as long as there is a amber reflector

you can put amber bulbs in a clear corner lense, and its illegal, becuase theres no amber reflector. Same as a rear taillight that requires a red reflector

No, sorry, I wasn't commenting on plates.

My truck and Andy's are very similiar; occasionally he got pulled over for vehicle infractions. But I NEVER have, I don't know why. That's why I was asking I guess.
