Why I left

well guys, I must bid you all farewell. After two front diff leaks, a rattling timing chain, bad brakes and some other problems I have turned the ranger in because I have been tired of it being in the shop. It was an absolutley wonderful truck when it worked but I can't be out on a trail in the level 2 and have more things go wrong. Its not so much the ranger as it was ford not helping very well to solve the problems that it did have. I went to two dealerships and neither was helpful to me. I wanted to call ford directly but this being the second car in a row where no one at ford will help me, I just gave up on the blue oval for now. I went to the dealership and looked to get something else at ford but they would only give me 12k for it and I thought that was a joke considering it didn't have 20k in miles on it.So I did what no other ranger owner wants to do, I went across the street to the chyrsler dealer and bought a jeep. I like it a lot and the parts availability is just mesmerizing. I grew up in livonia (roush racing, svt, livonia transmission, china operations) and was only a few miles from WorldHQ and Research and engineering. I do miss driving a blue oval but I wanted something reliable on the trail. Everyonce in a while I catch myself staring at another level 2 thinking "mines way better then that one because..." I thank all of you for support and info while I did own the ranger and think this is one of the best boards I have been on.

PS I have my front skid plate that is painted with POR 15 and is in good condition. Let me know if anyone is interested in a purchase shoot me an email nategracie808@yahoo.com

^ hows the house? bettter or worse than having a ranger?

Lot's of our guys have gotten Jeeps. Jeeps are great. Rangers are great but for different reasons -- sorry yours was a lemon but it happens I guess. Mine has been great and I beat the living crap out of it, lol.

Have fun in the Jeep!

Way better, I am way happy out here and am happy with my automotive choices. They may not be as new or as low mileage as the ranger but they sure are unique. Besides If I get the raise I am pretty sure I am getting, I just might have a newer truck in the driveway soon.

Cant blame ya. the customer service at Ford leaves a bit to be desired. I live with a funky auto tranny, that shifts fun at times, the rattle, and some misc other issues.. like my driverside pwr door locks that dont work :thumbsdow other than it starts 99.9% of the time, and i only got stuck in it once.

and 12K for a rnager with less than 20K miles? thats a joke! especially if its like 04/05/06 since their selling lvl2 around here used with 40K miles for 18K. what jeep give ya for it?
