Will I be the first?

I am looking at a 2008 leftover extended cab brand new 2.3 auto ranger for 13 grand tomorrow. It's torch red and a xlt. If I get it It WILL be turboed within 3 months. Hmmm shall I keep my truck or go Eco friendly (with boost). I am having some hard times right now with my truck and I am either getting this truck or a sweet 2004 explorer sport trac adrinalin.... We will see. I have a 1994 ranger 4x4 ready for a SAS, so I can still wheel. I'll post pics tomorrow.

See what I was talking about man. They are fine then boom. It needs everything. That's how mine is. I was so happy that I got a truck then poof the clutch. 3 clutches, 2 slave cylinders, a clutch master and my awesome timing chain rattle all in 4 years. I don't even drive it as hard as I used to.

Two of my biddies drive Taco's and they are completely satisfied with them. But the Ford in me says get the 4 cyl and boost the hell out of it.

If you're not liking the problems with a (for the most part) stock drivetrain truck, I don't think you'll like an uncommonly custom turbo'd pickup. Not trying to discourage ya, as I'd like to see one, but going heavily custom/modified route won't help your unhappy feeling.

I think what main thing is that the problems are happening for no reason. Like me for instance. My truck is pretty much stock. I don't beat the hell out of anymore and for no reason something breaks. If I was a heavily modded truck then ok but why on a stock truck.

Its been done and a properly built up 2.3T can easily run down some stangs... they are really good sleepers and fast as hell, check out Rangerpowersports some times.... granted the site is crap but their are some examples of turboed 2.3's.... also Id check out an older model thunderbird that came turboed from the factory with the 2.3... I say go for the ranger... torch red is a sexy color

why dont you pull the codes and figure out why youre getting a CEL. it could be a simple sensor gone bad. it happens

"Tons of CEL lights?"

What exactly does that mean? you get a cel light, fix it, and...? Does the light not go out? does it go out and come right back on?

Sounds to me like you shold be driving a Toyota Camry or some other trouble free, STOCK, vehicle

It has thown about 6 different codes, over and over at random. I have replaced $300 worth of sensors, plugs, egr, maf, seafoamed, flushed, new vacuum lines ect. Don't be a smart ***. YOU go get a import and enjoy that.... I don't drive imports anymore

But you did at one time? Damage that has been done will continue to give you problems. Could be something more then just a simple slave cylinder.

Like? There is nothing else except the master and lines. I changed my master and the slave still went out. Its also not just my truck. Most manual Rangers have slave cylinder problems so don't go blaming how I drive. Its just a POS design.
