are u talkign about the little handle that u use to roll up the window? I'm confused?

To fix part of the problem I put a piece of foam with adhesive backing on the back of the plastic washer that separates the door panel and the handle, that took away a lot of it. Now the actual knob part vibrates lol.

Turn the volume up to drown it out.

I just tightened them up nice and tight.

To fix the knob from vibrating I found a screw that would fit in the hole ont he back that put just enough pressure to keep them from vibrating but would still let them move freely.
Haven't had a problem since.....

Cooke15, I have had trouble with loose knobs on the handles on Fords since I started driving in 1958. I have removed the handle and drilled out the rivet and replaced it with a bolt with the nut locktited on. It keeps it tight for a while and then I had to tighten them again. All the auto's have that problem. It's been that way since window cranks were put on cars.

This is a problem on my truck too. Little things like this are what will keep me from buying another ford.

or buy one with power windows

Mark98xlt 01-23-2008 09:56 AM

My 98's really didnt do it suprisingly, even with 2 15's in the back..

My 07 on the other hand does it like crazy haha.

Bump per request from D.

What about a fabric type washer between the knob and handle? Is there a way to remove the knob itself? Man these things drive me nuts. I hate power windows I enjoy the "strongarm" system.
