Fiberglass hood think it is worth the money to fix or not

Any guess on what it might cost to fix?

I dont know what they cost to get one in good shape, but looking at that one I would say no.

200-300 dollars locally for one in good shape and hit and miss if you find one in the right color

After paint and fiberglassing it would probably be close to the same then

if you do the fiber glass yourself might be cheaper but idk i have never done fiberglass

I'd fix it...lol

Seriously if its cheap enough you can groove the cracks out with a grinder and lightly grind the surface then fill it with duraglass. follow up with regular paint prep...bondo, primer, paint...

He's already gotta paint and glasswork it anyway to fit his truck... I say if the price is cheap enough, DO IT!! Glass work is pretty easy, messy, but fun!

FYI on car-part in my area they are going from 75-482 bucks

That hood is not fiberglass . It is a composit material and has to be treated as such.

If it's not fiberglass, why are we clearly seeing the glass?



sport trac beds are fiberglass, header panels are fiberglass, flairside bedsides are fiberglass....

do it!!! ya i'd fix it.. fibreglassing is fairly easy to do.... wvcat's suggestion is the best.. clean up the cracks with a grinder toss in some duraglass sand her down and your off.. if you use short or long kitty hair (can in the same can and is applied the same as bondo) its just like doing bodywork with bondo on a metal hood.. once the kitty hair is dry, sand the **** out of it and shape it to the hood, then toss a coat of bondo on top of it to smooth it out.
