Wrecked my truck Edit: Got the estimate and when she will be done.:)

Well I was crossing a crowded street between the parking lot of Best Buy and the parking lot of Target and while passing through the opening left by stopped traffic, I got plowed into by an a-hole speeding in the turn lane. Bent the A-arm atleast and smashed the right side of my bumper up, past the foglight.

I was found at fault cause I failed to look before going and given a warning. I do not know if the other guy got a warning, but he probably did. Cause if he was going the speed limit he would not have bent the A-Arm(i think thats what it was). I was crossing 4 lanes of traffic, 2 going away from the light and 2 stopped at the light and then the turn lane. Made it through the stopped traffic and boom. Didn't see the guy, had to do all I could to not hit the traffic i was passing by. Scared the **** out of passenger.

Had to watch my baby get towed on a flat bed and watched his car get towed and all it had was a smashed hood, fender, bumper and corner lens, still very drivable.

God I hope the appraiser comes out fast and work gets done fast, I need my truck to go home for Christmas next week.:(

God I hope so. I thought it was just bumper damage, until we tried moving it and the damn front right wheel felt like it was flat.

Dang Ryan, sorry to hear that. Hopefully, it's not an expensive fix, and you'll be back on the road soon.

ditto on everyone else....you're the most valuable mod to u're truck....

all the times i've been drivin down in NC, i'm scared to death, them a-holes can't drive...5 lanes of traffic, speed limit is 75... 75!!!!!!! and people are still goin 100-110...and i'm in the slow lane doin 65....haha....they crazy, so it's not somethin to get too down about....

things happen for a reason, and maybe he hit you and did the damage he did...big as you see it, but small compared to what could have happened...he could have been turning to somewhere and plowed into a minivan or station wagon or something and hurt a child....theres a reason for everything man....

that sucks ryan, ill do anything i can to help you fix it, but im sure (hopefully) youve got insurance taking care of it. wherever it gets replaced, have the shop give you all the old parts, thats why i did with my ranger when i did it and i got tons of good stuff out of the deal.

Thanks all. Yea I agree he wasn't paying attention. How do you miss a tall truck, he was going way too fast anyway. We'll see what insurance says, waiting on a call back from them.

EDIT: Just talked to the insurance, probably gonna be my fault, cause I didn't yeild the right of way, but if he wasn't speeding the truck would have been drivable. Truck is getting picked up by the shop tomorrow and will know how long and what kind of things i can get tomorrow afternoon.

In your state does it matter whose fault it is?
Your insurance company will still pay for the repairs, right?

Doesnt that all depend on what coverage you have on your insurance Neil..?

New Vehicle, in Tx, full coverage is required... Might be the same, if it is, hes covered..But his rates go up..

I think the only two states in the US that are no-fault are NJ and Mass-a-uslessness. I think this is why Geico (and my carrier) won't insure in those states.. But yeah, comprehensive should cover regardless of fault.

For real? Sure that's not a requirement of your note? I've never heard of a state requireing FULL coverage. Liability sure, but not comprehensive! .. NH requires NOTHING! Of course that has it's downsides too. Two people in my 35-man company have been involved in accidents w/ un-insured motorists. Neither case worked out well..

Yep they are gonna pay, but i will pay my deductible and my rates will go up. which sucks ***, been paying enough over the years and the one time you need them, you pay more. sucks but thats the way **** works.

I just hope they can get the parts in and the work done fast, cause i need my truck back sometime next week to get home for christmas.

Geico just came to NJ.
I am going to stick with my present company because they offer a discount for home & auto combo.
My full coverage insurance with a $750 deductible is $1350 per year.
Surprisingly this is the exact same amount as the summer slip fee for my boat.
Neither Amphitrite nor LIL BLUE are necessary.

Insurance costs have finally begun to come down in New Jersey.
Competition helps and as more companies like Progressive and Geico set up shop in our state the rates go down.
That is one campaign promise our gay quitter of a former governor did follow up on, auto insurance reform.
Here in New Jersey if you have collision coverage your vehicle is repaired no matter what, otherwise you are on your own.

$2217 total. Had to replace the whole right front suspension. If they had hit anymore to the left, in the center of the rim, they would be replacing the hub and brakes and **** also. Parts are already ordered, should be in tomorrow and the truck should be almost complete Tuesday.
