well in our case the volvo my dad bought sucks, but i told him not to get it, 152k with the check engine light on .... you just need a bit of common sense and mechanical know how when buying used cars and that goes for anywhere not just craigslist.

For example, the integra i bought was obvioulsy in an accident at some point

didnt show up on carfax. So how useful can they really be?

ummmm. How does he think you can put it in 4 wheel drive when it needs a new motor for the t-case, the manual hubs? He is a complete idiot.

i bought my truck from craigslist w/o a carfax. i lucked out, but i realized that i should always do it. i still want to find someone with a subscription to see what the vin runs

lol, he was sure to mention it "has a good lift not that garbage body lift nonsence" or something, but like you said he didn't bother to mention all the other hidden crap.
