XLT and FX4

I use to own a 06 XLT 4x4 that i gave back yesterday because of year end lease, but my point is i never noticed how much of a rough ride the XLT was until i drove my dads FX4, my dad stopped at a ford dealership to get a part and he asked them why its so much of a difference, they said because of the seat. For some reason i dont believe that how can a seat make so much of a difference. What you think it is?

My friend has an '01 XLT and I own an '09 FX4. He has the 60/40 bench. I thought that the 60/40's were comfortable until I test drove my truck. I like mine much better.

No, I have the sport seats with the center console. They are way more comfortable!

I doubt its the seat. Its just a stiffer suspension

i highly doubt it was the seats thats causing the rough ride... but i dont know because ive never rode in an FX4 but my XLT rides fairly smooth. For a truck that is. To me though it doesnt really matter about the ride. Its a truck. Not a Cadillac. My parents have an 06 Deville and you dont realize how rough your truck rides until you take a few rides in the cadi.

Thats what i figured to because i would think the FX4 would have better suspension than the XLT because it is suppose to be offroad

The rough ride in my XLT i use to own never bothered me but it is a big difference to my dads 06 FX4

my xlt does have a very rough ride. but stock is very nice to ride. never been on an fx4

though i have an extra leaf, t-bars cranked and around 50-60 psi on my tires (use the truck for working so i need the tires to be properly filled or else id destroy em)
