Yakima Roof Rack

I found a rack on craigslist and was wondering if 48" cross bars are long enough for the ranger. Also if you have any comments on how well the racks fit etc. feel free to let me know.

1999 Ford Ranger 4x4 Super Cab 2door.

also with a 2 door it will only mount to where the door is so wont take up all of the ext cab..

Dang, do you think I am better off trying to do the Explorer Roof Rack Mod? I wanted to take off the rack in the summer for better gas mileage, and didn't want to drill the through the roof. I will be transporting snowboards on the rack, do you think the Yakima would be worth it?

you could but yes you will have to drill in the roof. also the roof isnt really strong it was never designed to hold weight.. also.. you have a BED... put them in there...

i have yakima racks that were added to my camper shell from Leer and i was never happy with them.. at one point with a book case tied to the roof rack the whole thing came off.. also the powder coat came off the bases and the metal started to rust.. i was disappointed but they still are attached to the cap.. i took the cap off years ago

Heres what I did. Lumber cost me less then $10, and I had the snowboard holder. If you dont have one you can get one for under $50. There was still alot of room for bags and boots in the bed.
