Master cylinder leaking, replace booster too?

I just did a brake job on my '04 ranger and noticed the master cylinder is leaking at the back, where it connects to the brake booster. I can replace the cylinder , but I concerned about the brake booster. Brake fluid is corrosive and I'm not certain the booster can take that kind of leak. Should I change the brake booster too or do you think it will be ok? It'll cost me $200 more to change it with Motorcraft replacement.

Pull it an inspect it, if the leak was just on the outside rinse it with solvent and paint it. If you see fluid inside then you may want to replace it.

FWIW, my booster lasted 160k. May help you justify buying a new pending your mileage. It was also 12 years old at that point too.

/\ What he said. The master and booster on my '96 are both original, with 200k on them...
