New bed, no blinkers

New bed, no blinkers
Hey everyone,
I replaced the style-side bed on my 2004 ranger with regular bed from a 1997 ranger at the junk yard and cannot get the turn signals or brake lights working. The tail lights and reverse worked right off the bat without issue.
I have replaced the bulbs and sockets on the brake and turn signals with no luck. Any idea what my next step should be?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum
1993 to 1999 Rangers used a 3 wire tail light system, there was a separate turn signal bulb on each side and separate stop light bulb
2000-2011 use 2-wire, turn and stop shared one bulb, this was done in turn signal stalk in cab
You can either get a 2 wire to 3 wire converter(used for trailer light wiring), you hook up the 2004 2 wires to the 1997 3 wire taillight harness
Or you can get 2 wire taillight lens's and wiring harness and put that in the 1997 bed
1993 to 2011 tailight lens are interchangeable so if you still have the old bed you can use those and the wiring harness
You can Google: 2 to 3 wire converter, you will see many of them, they are made to be mounted under rear of a vehicle so they are weather proof
This is just an example: https://sep.yimg.com/ay/yhst-8989292208475/118158-1.gif
In your case it needs to be 2 wire to 3 wire converter, they also make 3 wire to 2 wire converter which you would use if you put a 2004 bed on a 1997 Ranger
2004 should have a black/pink wire for parking lights, 1997 would be a brown wire
2004 left turn/stop is a light green/orange wire
2004 right turn/stop is an orange/light blue wire
So these 2 wires would hook to input of converter
1997 ranger wiring out of converter
left turn light green/orange wire
right turn orange/light blue
So same as 2004 colors
BUT Stop lights are the 3rd wire, light green wire to both sides
