1990 2.3 Hesitation in midrange
My truck came from an elderly guy who used it around town so it did plenty of sitting in the garage and not being used.
I noticed right away it idles rough when warmed up and it has a funny hesitation between 1500 and 2200 RPMs, under a load at that range it will buck a little and has no power. once the rpms get past 2200 all the power comes back,
to remedy this I changed the plugs, wires, air and fuel filter..... I checked the mass air flow and it is like new inside and out. the hesitation is still there.
any thoughts on what to change/check next????
thanks in advance

thats a good one, it never even crossed my mind to look at the TB, Thanks
also the check engine light comes on every now and then only for a few seconds to a minute then goes right back off.
how hard/easy is it to read the codes, I have an ODB2 reader I have to see if it will adapt to the older ODB1 that this truck is equipt with.
