1992 ford ranger "Internal Govenor"?
My wind shield wipers stopped working. the motor wouldn't run at all so i replaced the motor. the new motor still dose not run at all. originally I could hear a clicking sound coming from under the middle of the dash near the radio when I turned on the wipers. This noise would correspond to the speed I had the wiper switch set at. After I put the new motor in I could only hear the clicking sound when I first turn on the wipers. I checked the circuit breaker and that is good. I pulled the multi function switch off and all the wires are connected and the switch internals are all clean. I cant seem to find a relay on this vehicle for the wipers I was told It could be internal to the motor. I checked the wiring diagram and it shows a component called "internal Governor" that is part of the wiper circuit. dose anyone know what this component is, where it is located and if this could be the cause of my problem I am out of ideas. Thank you. you can see the wiring diagram at autozone.com
http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiB...23d800ba9c7.jsp click on 1992 ranger body wiring the component is in the bottom right corner of the diagram. |
My '92 Ford Manual shows a Windshield Wiper Module that handles the interval timer. It's located "Behind lower center of I/P, LH side of ashtray assembly". It will have a 9-wire harness connector attached to it.
