1994 2.3 electrical issue
1994 2.3 electrical issue
I have a 94 ranger with the 2.3l engine. It's an xl model truck, plain jane. Can't figure out my problem. truck acts like the battery is very weak/dead, but it isn't. I have replaced the battery, alternator, starter, cleaned all my grounds and checked all my fuses. I replaced the keyswitch ignition cylinder about a year and a half ago. Interior light is extremely dim, headlights extrememly dim, and wipers will just barely move. Dash cluster is dim, and shows below 8volts on the charge, the needle is all the way in the red and the engine wont crank. I've checked my terminal running to my starter. It looks good. I'm getting 12 volts and some change to the starter and alternator. I checked those with a multi meter. I'm at my wits end. Someone said change the starter solenoid/relay on the fender, but he was just spitballing. Also, when I try to jump the starter relay on the fender, it acts like a dead battery also. I have cleaned and even changed my battery post connectors. Any help would be appreciated, I'll do my best to reply back to this post in a timely manner. Thanks all.
