Icon5 1996 Starting problems

I have a 1996 4x4 V6 4.0 and has 211,000 miles. It started having problems about 3 months ago. it's starts fine in the morning but if I stop anywhere for more than 5 min it won't start again. It only cranks at first then it tries to start but only for like 2 seconds. I've taken it to 3 different places and they can't tell me what it is. Ive been told it's the fuel pump but I've had it replaced 3 times in the last 4 years. Sometimes I think it is the fuel pump because it once shut off on the highway. When I finally manage to turn it on it revs super high, almost like I got 1/2 of the gas pedal down. Also as I'm trying to turn it on sometimes the doors lock and unlock repeatedly and the stereo turns off for the rest of the car ride. Has anyone else had this. What could the problem be?

Have you tried replacing the Inertia Fuel Shutoff Switch and or the Fuel Pump Relay?

could be. Well I ain't so good with cars, I can do the standard stuff but I don't mess with the engine. Knowing my luck I might blow it up trying to change the filter. The mechanics have never told me anything about those two things but could that be it. While at the shop someone asked me if I've had some sensors or some wires checked.

If either one of those are starting to go bad it would cause the fuel pump to shut off. The Inertia Fuel Shutoff Switch typically has to be manually reset if it trips. However, If the relay is intermittently acting up it could cause sporadic operation of the fuel pump.
