Need help asap.....Fan

Im working on my truck and can not get the fan off....what do i need to do?

Go to an auto parts store where you can rent tools. There is a special tool that you can get which will give you a wrench to hold the fan in place, and one to take off the nut behind it. Remember that it is reverse threaded, so you turn it to the right to get it off instead of the left.

and it will be impossible to get it tight when you put it back on (if you do).....that is why it is reverse thread, when you start the engine, it will tighten up.....

well went and rented the tool....didnt work...so i went a bought a box wrench big enought and im going to try something differnt tomorow...its too dark already to be working on the truck

yea i dont know...the only reason im takeing it off is the clutch locked up and the fan is always on so im switching to e-fan....

there are 3 different Ford fan clutch tools........when i took mine off, i went through all 3 of them.....of course the 3rd one worked......might see if they have another one....

yea it was a hole set that came with all differnt sizes the small one was still just a bit to big....

I just used a set of 16in. channel locks on the back to hold it, and a 16in. crescent wrench on the shaft to thread it off and it came right off without any fuss.

4.0 fan is NOT reverse threaded - lefty loosey still applies!

got the fan off with no problem today....put the new e-fan on....but go to dark to finish up the wireing so ill finish first sun light in the morning...
