Another cruise control question

Tried to use my cruise control for the first time since I had my truck in for the recall.....like 7 months ago....(yeah I don't use it too often). It worked years ago but it doesn't work now and I'm not sure if the recall had anything to do with it. No laughing! I've used the cruise control maybe 5 times since I bought the truck about 4 years ago.

Anyway, when I try to turn it on the "Cruise Cont" light will flash once but that's about as far as it will go. No idiot lights on the dash or other electrical issues.

My question is, even though it's been many months since I had the recall performed, am I still in a position to contact the dealer for further inspection or is the replacement harness serviceable in any way? I haven't actually checked the harness itself but did notice what appeared to be an inline fuse holder?? Maybe I should tear into that? I dunno.

Any input would be great! (fuse location, what's in that harness, other components to check, etc)

If it was the first time you used it since they replaced it, yes you can still contact them about it.

As far as I know they should still take care of it for you

Mine does the same thing, before and after recall. It works once in awhile, but i usually get it where the light flickers on then off as well.

As in the buttons on the steering wheel?

I'll call the Stealer tomorrow and see what they say.

When you take your truck in for the Cruise Cntrl Service and they don’t have the parts they just disconnect it; usually tell you though.
Look under the hood around the brake master cylinder and see if there are any disconnected wires. if so, then contact the Stealership for more details don’t reconnect the wires.

If the Cruise works sometimes and not others check out the Switches on the Steering Column, they wear out and may need replacing.
Local JYs usually have plenty of these Pods; watch the Air Bags if the vehicle has them, make sure there is no battery in the vehicle and if there is disconnect it and wait a short while before taking the air bag out.

Stealer says anything beyond what was performed for the recall is going to be out of (my) pocket expenses. So, I'm gonna check the harness fuses as well as the switch on the master for leakage and go from there.

Sounds shady, they won't fix something that they worked on last?

Guess not. The way it was described to me was something along the lines of "...the factory will see that the recall was done to your truck so anything after that will be out of pocket..."

I'm not too worried tho. I have a pair of leaf spring shackles to take care of before I need to worry about the cruise control.
