2000 Ford Ranger 4WABS

Been trying to diagnose an ABS issue. Truck has half broke down a few times, and I've not been able to reliably drive it. the Speedometer will malfunction, showing 0 or an incorrect speed while I'm moving. The ABS light and something else with it will kick on and off so fast that the truck dies. It's thrown a variety of codes over the last several months;

PO500: Vehicle Speed Sensor "A" Circuit
B1676 Battery Voltage out of range
C1752 Vehicle Speed Sensor #1 Circuit failure
C1155 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor input Circuit failure.
P1804 4 wheel drive high indicator circuit failure.
PO731 Gear 1 incorrect ratio

I replaced both wheel speed sensors on the front wheels, the speed sensor on top of the tranny, as well as the speed sensor on the rear differential. This solved C1155 code.
Fuse 14(10A), for 4Wabs, is in the cab is in good condition.
I've cleaned all the ground connections i can find.

I think my next step would be testing the 4WABS control module and pump. I also suspect it might be shorting out somewhere. I've cleaned the 41 pin connecter under the driver seat as well as my speed sensor connections. I'm looking to solve the problem and stop throwing money at it.
Thoughts? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum

There is a TSB for 2000 and 2001 Rangers, seen here post #6: https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...-issue-146864/

In 2000 there is a larger connector under the drivers seat that goes thru the floor to the outside, called C309(connector 309) in 2000 Rangers, C340 in 2001
All your symptoms seem to point to water and/or corrosion in that connection
It can be "a can of worms" to open this connection, so just a heads up, corroded pins can just break off

I'd cleaned this a few months ago. Perhaps not thoroughly enough. I'll give it another look.

Update!

I'd finished cleaning the C309 connector in April 2023, and it seemed to work, for a while. I did not replace pins, none were corroded. I bought a kit for cleaning the pins and pin holes and applied multiple electric cleaners, letting them dry. It worked for a while but issues persisted.

Some similar error codes, some new ones. You'll notive a theme of 'circuit failure.'

I let it sit for a year, I drained the Gas and got a new battery, now I'm back to square one. I'm going to keep finding grounds to clean. What else should I try to get her healthy again?
