2001 Edge with 3.0 wiring help for aftermarket keyless entry and power windows

I've installed aftermarket keyless entry and power windows on a base model 2001 Ranger Edge with 3.0L. The install has gone pretty well. Both systems work but I'm down to 2 or 3 issues.

For the locks, I need to connect to the horn circuit and the parking lights circuit.
1. For the horn, I'm guessing it would be more proper to access the circuit that energizes the horn relay as opposed to sending power straight to the horn itself (which would also be more wire routing to the passenger side bumper). So I'm trying to figure out how to ID the wire that is coming out of the steering column, between the switch and the relay. I'd love to be able to do this inside, under the dash as opposed to routing through the firewall.
2. For the parking lights, the kit includes a single output that has a "Y" soldered in as if to run to both sides of the car. Is that the best way of doing this or can I pull off the back side of the parking light switch behind the dash? Again, I'd need a pinout/diagram of that connector to ID the proper wire.

For the windows, it came with a 14awg wire with an in-line 30amp fuse. Is it best for me to just run that through the firewall up to the battery and leave that fuse in place or could I pull from a more convenient place (especially if I'd like to only energize if the car is on)?

For future issues, do you guys like alldatadiy, hanes, chiltons, or some other source for wiring diagrams and whatnot?
