I have a 2004 Ranger XLT 3.0. 148,000 miles. Truck won't start with the anti-theft light blinking. Truck wont turn over, just complete silence. Lights in cab still work, as well as clock, horn, and odometer. Fuses all look to be good. I had a locksmith come out and they tried to cut new keys. The truck wouldn't take it. It would say the keys are programmed, but when it's placed in the ignition, it would lose programming. Weird. The locksmith couldn't cut new keys. The truck is throwing me a PASTS code of 12. I purchased a second-hand transceiver only to realize that the ring around the ignition core isn't for a 2004 model. Looks like it was used for older models. Am I correct that the transceiver ring around ignition isn't for the 2004 Ranger? I feel like I'm at a dead end. I couldn't find much online for PATS on a 2004 Ranger. Lots of stuff on 2003 and older. What is the recommended next step on a PATS CODE 12 ? Does it have anything to do with the cluster? If so, how do I proceed? Any help is appreciated!
