Vapor Canister Wiring 2008 Ranger
Hi all,
I have a 2008 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 2.3.
I found a broken wire going to my vapor canister solenoid (underneath of bed, near spare tire). I disconnected battery and cut the connector off. The break exposed the wire and the copper conduit turned green and brittle. I know it would be a poor connection, if I soldered it to the old line. So, I went to a used parts grave yard and took one off of a junked Ranger. I went to solder the new one on and I can't find the old one! Now, I don't know which wires goes to which terminals!
Can someone either provide me a wiring diagram for it or post a pic of your harness as it it attached to your valve? I don't know which of the two outlets on the wire connector is for the negative or for the positive. I don't know which wire in the connector is positive and which is negative. I don't to cause a short. That would be worse than losing the original connector.
Thanks so much!

Thanks for your reply. Those are the correct colors but which is terminal 1 and which is terminal 2? I think the only way I'll be able to differentiate is by a picture. When connector is connected, is terminal 1 the nearest to the bed and #2 the one closest to the ground? The other way is the look of the female end of the connector. There are two receiving slots: one is bigger and they have slightly different shapes. Man, this is probably confusing description. I'm frustrated that I can't find the original I took off. Again thanks for your effort. It does help.
