2006 Ranger 2.5 diesel with airbag light flashing
Hi, reasently bought my first pickup. Took it to the yearly inspection that was passed due the airbag light started flashing. Then i did not know that the flashing was a code so i did not pay attention to that. I went home and took the passanger seat out to clean the floor maths. I went for A drive some days later and the airbag light did not flash anymore, problem was that the ABS light was solid. I put the passenger seat back. Sprayed the cable conection under the seat with wd40. Put the negative Battery cable of for 10-15mins and then started the car. ABS gone but airbag back with flashing. I can only see that it flashes 7 times. I guess it could mean 0-7 or 7-0 also.
What could that mean and have someone some ideas how i Could troubleshoot this. its a Ranger 2006. 2.5 diesel 4x4. From What i understand its A pre mark shift 2006. BR Johan |
I can reply to my own question now. Being a Mazda-Ranger i found some threads about other Mazdas with the same flashing. It is the passenger seat airbag module it indicates.
in my case i solved the problem with removing the glove box. Finding the yellow airbag connector. Disconnect the Battery negative. Then disconnect the airbag connector. Spray connector both enda with wd40. Connecting and disconnect a couple of times before putting the glove box back and connect the battery negative again. Problem solved, for now. |
We are located in North American so could never get your Model of Ranger here in US/Canada
You have a T6 Ranger ours were smaller and 1983 to 2011 but no Diesels just petrol only, totally different trucks The T6 models were sold world wide but could never be imported into the US or Canada Best bet for future issues is Australian Ranger forums, they got the T6 Models down under and English language forums |
