i have the window chatter too. passenger side only. i had to have the windshield seal replaced since an employee didn't make sure it was seated properly and it leaked in the very top left corner. i haven't noticed the slave cylinder yet and i'm at 30k. i don't kno what you guys mean about the 4.0 being a weak motor. yea it's only 207hp and 248ft lbs torque. but mine gets off the line somewhat quick. i've got 3:73s and a ls. i'm happy with my milage. i get 550 kms out of a tank. almost all city driving.
i can fit my truck into places where a smaller fullsize can't (even some cars the way they are driven).
i almost bought a fullsize reg cab f-150. i'm really glad i didn't get a reg cab 4x4. i mean i like the looks of the previous model. but my ranger is perfect for me. i can haul what i need and it's not too excessive.

get it. you won't regret it.

on a side note, i was like wtf!? you can't buy a 2010 yet. then i thought about it. yea it's almost oct. i'm sure they'd sell one.

on another side note, is the slave cylinder under warrenty? yes it's wear and tear but a large number of us have had this replaced.

I did and ummm it does. Good for you that you beat other trucks. Remember that a full size is a full size and they carry quite a bit more weight around with them. So yeah your might be faster but which one do you think will tow better? Also its sad that a full size gets the same mileage.

well, your completely off topic, were not talking about fullsize/ midsize tow capacities are we? becuase thats a given... being the "weakest" in its CLASS isnt true at all, if you hate rangers so much why are you here.

I merely brought up running against the fullsize trucks because it seems like everyone thinks fullsize trucks are fast as hell.

Well since you obviously have missed some posts I'm here and I drive a Ranger because it was cheap when I bought it. Now I make more money and I'm going for something way better like a Tacoma or Silverado. Yes I hate my Ranger but I would be happier with an auto 4.0. Either way the Ranger is cheap truck with outdated engines and interiors.

Like I have told others if you don't like what I post then don't read it.

Miles per tank mean very little. Most of that has to do with fuel capacity than milage.

FWIW, i have a Ford Flex rental right now thats getting around 17 in the city and the display said up to 28 on the freeway. (im up near San Francisco right now for work again) The display said 'only' 320 miles till empty. Now, my Ranger does better than that per tank, yet i dont get anywhere near the high 20s as far as miles per gallon. So which is doing better?

When it comes to cheap interiors.... umm.. have you been in a Silverado? yuck. A few friends of mine have them and even one with an 06 SS has an interior that looks like it could have come out of an 88 CK. The new ones arent a ton better in most trims. The high end models are nice, but that can be said of most any truck. The Tacomas are ok. Just too big for me and you talk about bad on gas? See what a Tacoma V6 does. My cousin is a service writer at a Toyota dealer. He says guys ***** about Tacomas milage all the time. You could just get the 4 banger.....

except that is an ancient engine too...

it goes on and on. EVERY brand has its faults. Toyota head gasket problems, LS piston slap, mod motor spark plugs, Dodges lovely suspensions, and yes, Ranger slave cylinders. (my 3.0 shifted fine till it was stuffed) He's asking for simple suggestions on a recent purchase, not a reaffirmation of someone else's buyers remorse.

You shouldn't have any problems off the bat with your 2010 Ranger.

The manual trans is MUCH better then the auto, despite some comments made on page 1. There are endless threads in here about the auto trans in the Rangers being a POS.

Yes the slave cylinders in the manuals are cheap plastic and go out on you, but they do get a good beating and many miles prior to that.

Good luck with your new ride.
