2011 HID problem

So i traded my 03 for an 11. Kept my hids which worked in the 03. Put them in the 11 today and nothing. Ive checked all i know to check and cant figure out why they wont work. Niether headlights or fog lights work. Im lost. I tried searching and couldnt come up with anything on here. ANY help would b greatly appreciated. Ive tried multiple ballasts, bulbs, and wiring harnesses and nothing.

That's odd, I wouldn't think the wiring would be any different for the 11 as far the headlights go. I wonder if the newer Rangers have a slightly more robust computer that doesn't like the HID's

Im Running HIDs in my headlights and foglights on my 2011. If nothing is working im thinking maybe the wires that run into the back of the factory harness are in different spots then the 2003. Your hid kit should allow you to switch the wires around if you push in the little pins that hold them into place. I had to do this with my kit when i first installed it.

Keep us updated.

**Side note. My headlight kit was a relay style HID. This style will cause your fogs to flicker because of the foglight relay. I had to buy new standard plug and play bulbs to stop the fogs from flickering and had to use capacitors to stop the DRL from flickering because there is no way to disable DRL on 2011's

Figured out my problem with the fogs about 3 hrs ago. The 2 wires on the 2011 fog light plug are opposite of the 03 plug. I just turned the plug around and it works great. I have the facory fog light plug plugged directly into the ballast. Just had to plug it in backwards from what i had it in the 03.

DRL are a canada only thing. you may have to switch the 2 outside pins with each other on the main plug. You may also try reversing the polarity to the headlights. Is your kit an older analog style HID or newer digital ballast box set up?

I've noticed this on a lot of vehicles. Because an incandescent bulb doesn't care which direction the current flows, it seems they don't pay any particular attention to how they pin the plugs. I had this before and just repinned the plug so I didn't have to plug it in wrong.
