Fuel Filler Hose Issue

Fuel Filler Hose Issue
I replaced the fuel filler on my 96 XLT. The replacement filler hose I purchased is so soft that it kinks where it goes into the top of the fuel tank making it impossible to fill the tank in a timely fashion.
I found a YouTube video from someone who had the same issue. They wound up using the old filler tube with a new vent tube. The old filler tube was a much harder rubber so it didnt' bend. Here's a link to the video:
Unfortunately, I discarded the old filler before I figured out what the problem was.
Can someone suggest where I can buy a fuel filler hose, which will solve the problem? I see price ranges from $40 - $200 online. I know that the $40 version doesn't work.
Has anyone figured out how to modify a new hose to prevent the kinking?
Many thanks!
