3.0 2 and 6 misfire
 

My 1999 3.0 is misfiring on cylinder 2 and 6. I have heads only a few months old new plugs coil wires Etc. I know two insects are supposed to fire together. I'm a bit stumped with this one can someone point me in the right direction. Not getting any other codes other than 2 and 6 misfire

Sounds like the coil pack is bad to me, there are 3 coils in the coil pack, sounds like the center coil the one that fires cyl 2 & 6 went out.

Well I replace the coil when I put new heads on it. Ran fine for about a month and then started doing this. I just went out and put the old coil back on it and it's smooth out the idle for a few minutes. Then I turned on the AC and it went back to a very rough idle and has stayed that way.. I actually drove it around the block and it seemed much better until I hit the AC. I guess I will clear the codes out drive it to work this evening then check it was the code reader again
Any other suggestions?

I put the original coil back in the truck after clearing the codes. Drove it. Got the same two codes for cylinders 2 and 6 + P - 0 300 which is a general misfire code I believe. I think I'm more puzzled now than I was before.
Any thoughts.

I have since learned that this is a common problem with the computer end the 3.0 Ranger. Have ordered new computer
