3 bulb--> 2 bulb tail conversion
I tried searching and didn't come up with anything. And I thought there was a how-to thread on wiring it up but I couldn't find it. All I found were a few threads about going from 2 to 3 but I need 3 to 2. Could someone point me in the right direction, or just tell me how to do it real quick?
thanks |

or you could just dremel the lights |
If only doing it the other way was that easy... :(

I don't understand why anyone would want to remove the separate directional section from the taillights ? They are by far a safer taillight because of the separate amber turn signal. An Idea: If the truck is wired for three segment lights and you want the look of the two segment units but still retain the separate directional indicator, you can use the back up light section of the newer lights for a turn signal and add new back up lights to the bumper. That way you have the newer look and still retain the separate amber turn indicator and get new better/brighter bak-up lights Here is the back of my truck, the bak up lights section of the 2-segment lights is setup for directionals and in the pic are on flasher mode; without backup lights. I changed the bed to a flareside and need a new bumper, so I am waiting for backup lights... :puppy_dog 03 Ranger :: 03 Ranger LED Bak Up/Diredtionals picture by Scrambler82 - Photobucket I had the two segment lights with the directionals in with the brake lights and had to separate the two functions for separate directionals, love um... Luck to ya, |

Perfect... I wish I had started with the three segmented light.
If you decide to go aftermarket with the bak-up lights, consider running new wires, do not use the OEM wiring for the main power. The OEM wiring can be used for triggering the relay though. Luck on the rewire. |
I was talking about the opposite of 3 bulb---> 2 bulb.... so 2 bulb to 3 bulb.

yeah that is it the newer rangers are set up like that but the old housing will still fit in you just have to splice in new conections or leave 2 blank holes but like i was saying last time i checked there were no aftermarket housing for that bulb configurationq
