HI guys I've got a set of Baja aftermarket driving lights that came with H3 55w halogen bulbs. I was loooking at a set of H3 100w halogens to replace the bulbs. My question is will this work just swapping the bulbs out or should I change the wiring. If I should be changing the wiring out to do this what's the mininmum gauge of wiring I should us. I believe the supplied wiring was 14 gauge.

 

the housings will melt and the wiring will fry. don't put 100 watt bulbs in baja lights
get better lights like Hella,kc or Piaa. there expensive, but they'll last a lot longer than the baja's

 

I have my 2- 110w lights running off of a single 12 gauge wire, Ive used them heavily and never had a problem.

 

All 4 of my lights are 110w Baja's from autozone, for $20 a piece. They work great, the only problem ive had with them is that one of them points towards the sky and i cant aim it down, but that might have to do with when i sprayed them with bed liner. The good thing is though that if i get lost the planes will find me quicker....

Ok sounds good guys, If I do the swap out I'm gonna run a heavier gauge wire. I only use use the aux lights no more than twice a month for 2 or 3 hours max at one time right now. I got them to help me spot deer further down the road and so far I am very happy with them, they do help. Right now I am very torn between running an amber foglight setup like I'm had on my last two vehicles, Or a long range driving light set up like I have on the front of my bull bar at the moment. I'm thinking that swapping the bulbs for 100w is worth the try since it got the lights for 40 bucks and mainly because they had light guards and covers.
