4.0 Here, Question about the Dist.Coil/Wires

Anybody have problems with misfires at +- 75000 miles? I got p0303 come up on my scanner. #3 cyl misfire.
Is the distributorless ignition module known to be faulty, Haynes manual says the spark plugs should last till 100k miles but suggests that they be changed at 60k, does anybody do this at 60k? truck feels like its misfiring, what does anyone suggest I replace? Thanks dr

Time to change them. I changed mine at 60K. Also look into some wires.

The coil pack should last a while. I have 115K on my truck with the original pack. Also don't use Bosch Platinum 4 plugs. I used them and they work just fine but there have been reports of faulty plugs.

Fixed!!!!

Thanks to the advice here ,(Thanks fddriver02), The problem was resolved, The #3 plug was burnt out, The factory says plugs at 100k miles, I have 73k, fddriver02 chgd his at 60k, I did plugs and wireset chg. I swapped out the wireset 1st but problem persisited, swapped out plugs and problem gone. There was autolite resistor plugsd in there ($1.74 @ Autozone)each. So i put the same in as well. reset my ck engine lite and now runs great. Thanks again. DR

If you pulled out Autolite plugs, somebody has changed them before. They come from the factory with Motorcraft plugs.
