4wire plug

Found a flat 4 wire plug in the same harness as the transfer case wiring, looks dirty and unused, its short. but everything seems to work correctly. I will take photo if needed.

1995 Ranger?

Manual or automatic?

If manual then may be it was part of the automatics neutral switch wiring

What are the wire colors, maybe you can track it that way

Auto, Thanks, That might make sense. I looked at mitchells schematic at work last week, saw nothing but will look into the colors that might show where they go.

With 1995 and up Ranger 4x4s after you turn off the key you should rotate the 4x4 switch to 4low
Then if some one tries to power up the truck it will switch to 4low when they put foot on the brake.................making for a VERY SLOW get away, lol.
