I've been looking into a 302 swap for my 2002 Ranger with the 3.0. it's a 4x2 automatic, extended cab with 6'bed, and have been hunting for a doner 98-01 Explorer or Mountaineer to pick up and harvest from without luck. I understand the frame is different between the 4x4 and 4x2, while the Explorer/Mountaineer used the same platform. Something tells me a frame/body swap really isn't an option. Am I incorrect, or am I looking more at ripping from a pick-n-pull? If I'm going junkyard, I'll do an engine/transmission rebuild.
