4X4 Button problems

Hey I have had my 1994 4X4 XLT ranger for about a year now. When i got it, 4X4 worked but now it won't turn on when I press the 4X4 button. I have checked the fuses under the hood and also the fuses under my driver side dash. Any advice? Please.

Probably the shift motor. If you haven't used it regularly it could have gotten stuck. You might try tapping it with a hammer while someone pushes the button.

If im not mistaken, isn't the shift motor right between where the tranny and drivetrain link up? i'm not sure. thanks for the help

it's on the transfer case, but I'm not sure which side it is.

jack it up and see if you drive shaft spins when you engage it, there might be a problem with the hubs

also check your shift module

The shift motor is on the back side of the T-case and is really easy to get to. the shift module is a black box behind the radio.

thanks dude. And The little box behind my deck is fine and it's fuse is good as well. So it has to be the shift motor
