4x4 Low

i have a 2006 Ford Ranger FX4. my 4x4 low light is on but im in 2wd. when i hit the brakes the light goes out. my speedometer goes only to 40 but im actually going faster. what is wrong.

I would guess the wires going to/from the tranny got pinched and are shorting out somehow?

Either that or your gauge cluster is messed up. Mine was doing goofy stuff. I pulled it out, blew all the contacts out with air and reinstalled it and it worked fine.
