keep eating water pumps

I'm working on a 03 ranger XLT, 2x4 with 3.0L Flex fuel. Every 6 months, the water pump bearing goes bad. I even used motorcraft parts. I used a used clutch fan last time, still eating WP bearings. I noticed the WP pulley is chewed up, try replacing that.

Who ever installed WP before me, did not know what they were doing. They destroyed clutch fan and chewed up WP pulley.

Any comments welcomed

thanx

the serpentine belt tensioner pulley spring may be seized in the total tension position

use a torque bar with the proper socket and see if the pulley arm moves freely
