My grandpa has a 1984 Ford Ranger. He says he thinks it came with power steering and he took it off. Well now he is older and said he wants to convert it to power steering. I have a couple of questions.

Does anyone know if power steering came standard that year everything I can find says no.
He swapped out the original engine with a 1970's mustang 302. Do I need to look for a kit based on the model of the car or the engine?
Is it even possible to convert this on his own or is this complicated enough i need to seek professional help.
