88 Ranger, Electrical diagnosis questions
Hey guy! I'm a proud owner of a 1988 Ford Ranger. 500 bucks, towed to my house, due to the fact it's not running 😅.
Im fairly handy, and bought this bc it's one of my dream trucks.
currently doesn't run, no idea why, the guy I got it from bought from a guy who couldn't fix it, and then he never tried and just sold it to me.
my question:
from the pictures, is it safe to put a battery in here? To start the diagnostics process to get this running?
I don't want to blow anything up 😂
Note: I found several of those starter solenoids in the passenger side, maybe a hint?
IMHO... that is a question only you can answer !
Look at the wiring, does it look overly corroded, are there a lot of loose connections, and burnt wires, if so then it is a gamble f things are ok.
Clean up what you can see, put the battery in and prey for the best.
Remember, I can't tell anything for absolute, I am guessing as you will be but you can see the actual truck.
The good thing is... The '88 Ranger has a separate engine harness and can be replaced if necessary.
Good Luck with your project.
