94 2.3L won’t start/won’t turnover

I’ll start by saying I’ve read a few different posts about the same issue and have tried some the suggestions but still can’t get it to start. Was driving down the road when it died, I did not have any issues prior to that. When it first happened I couldn’t get it to do anything. Let sit went and got a tow strap and some tools. Tried to start it again. It started, but made a noise like the starter didn’t retract, as soon as I let off the clutch it died. Tried again it started but died before I could even let off the clutch. Have not been able to get it to start since and that was two weeks ago. I replaced the starter, there was some damage to the teeth on the starter but still nothing. I checked the fuel pump it’s good, tried bypassing the starter relay, still nothing. You can hear the starter engage but nothing. Battery has good charge, starter relay as been tested and is good. To me it acts like another sensor is bad and not relaying to the computer to start. All relays and fuses in the both fuse boxes are good. A friend mentioned the alternator might be bad. Not sure where to go from here besides the junk yard. Not really. Looking through the engine and underneath I have found other possible issues everything from bare/cracked wires to oil and power steering leaks. Was thinking about pushing it down the in front of the house tomorrow to see if can pop the clutch to get it start. I apologize for the long winded post.

What do you mean by nothing ? no clicking ? cranks but no start ? loud clunk ?

Battery has good charge
How do you know it has a good charge ? just because you have bright headlights means nothing.

Can you put a big socket on the crankshaft pulley and rotate the engine ?

You can hear the click in the starter relay. You can hear
a click and thunk sound from the starter like it’s hitting something or gear isn’t lined up.
As far as the battery charge, I checked it with multimeter, it was at 12.8. I never go by how bright the lights are as a determination of the battery being good or bad. I have not tried turning the crank shaft with a ratchet. I will try that tomorrow. I did pull the starter off again and it looks like the teeth are not aligned.
