94 ranger no spark injector not opening

I have a 94 ranger 4.0 2x4. Bought it about 4 mo ago had multiple parts replaced by previous owner. It has ran great lTill the other day driving down bumpy road and it died no check engine light. It has no spark and injectors are not opening. When I turn to run I can hear fuel pump kick on. And I have fuel pressure at fuel manifold. Bench tested coil pack that was slightly out of specs and replaced. Bench tested ignition control module that passed. Tested crank position sensor that was showing .5 ac V. When I went to check cam shaft positioning sensor it was not plugged in. There is a unplugged wire back there but it does not fit in the plug. But there is no other loose plug in the area of the sensor. Also the camshaft position sensor looks like it has not been plugged in for a while.does anyone have any ideas?Would the camshaft position sensor cause my no spark and no fuel injector opening problem? How can I track down the wires to plug in the sensor?

Welcome to the forum

Turn on the key, the CEL(check engine light) should come on, that means computer has booted up
Try to start engine, CEL should go OFF when starter motor is turning the engine, that means Computer is seeing Timing pulse from Crank sensor
If CEL stays on then no spark and no fuel

1994 was last year of the EEC-IV 60-wire computer
It has a separate spark module
The crank sensor is connected to this EDIS-6 spark module, and EDIS-6 is also connected to coil pack
If EDIS-6 module is getting a good crank sensor timing pulse it will start spark, doesn't need computer for that
EDIS-6 does send the crank sensor timing pulse to the computer so it can time injectors(and turn OFF CEL)

Picture of the whole spark system here: https://imgur.com/4cuB7HX
Tone ring, crank sensor, EDIS-6 and coil pack

In my 1994 the EDIS-6 is located on driver side of rad support BUT on the FRONT side, have to look up under bumper to see it

To test for spark you need to spray fuel into the engine, and crank it over, spark testers often don't work on Fords Waste spark system
So do 50/50 test

EDIS modules and crank sensors rarely fail, 27 year old wiring on the other hand...............well, lol

EDIS-6 wiring seen here: http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98.../edis6ew-1.gif
VR sensor is the crank sensor
Coil wiring is the 1, 2, 3, 4 on the right
PIP, IDS and SAW wires go to different pins on 1994 computer

If no start on 50/50 test then I guess you will need to get at the EDIS-6 and connector to test for VR sensor 0.5vAC when cranking, to test its wires, and connector for corrosion
Also check for 12volts with key on, and a good ground

1994 4.0l didn't have a Cam sensor except in Calif sold vehicles, so could be a replacement engine, or vehicle is from Calif, but would have correct cam sensor plug in that case, a Cam sensor issue wouldn't cause a No Start in any case

Crank sensor is the BIG Kahuna of sensors, ONLY "SENSOR" that can cause a No Start, all other sensors can cause rough running but none can cause a No Start

These are the wiring diagrams for computer, has the pin assignments for 1994 4.0l
Includes the EDIS-6(ignition control module) wiring for color matching

Thanks

Thank you for all of the wire diagram and information. My problem ended up being not enough power to open the relay to power up the ignition control module. Jumped the relay and it fired up. I will rewire the from ignition to the relay and should work.
thank you for your help.
