97 Ranger - Need Rear Lamp Wiring Assembly Plug
A previous owner trashed the molded plug behind the rear bumper where trailer wiring Tees in. The Tee connector looks like this:
http://picasaweb.google.com/Mark61A/RangerParts So far every salvage yard I have tried says "no wiring parts". The local Ford dealer wants $550 for a part they call the Rear Lamp Wiring Assembly. Specifically I need Supercab with rear wheel ABS. Can anyone help me locate this part used? I would settle for the driver side plug with a couple feet of wire bundle so I can splice it in. The longer the wire bundle with the plug the better. In case I have more trouble locating this part does anyone have information about other models using the same part. I'm guessing maybe Explorer or even F150? thanks Mark |

Thanks Kevin,
Is your job at a Ford supplier? For now here is a decent picture of the Tee connector. This picture exactly matches the actual connector I have. Since this connector Tees in between the plug it has one of each half. There are six pins. http://www.trailerhitches.com/electr...mbly118448.cfm This weekend I will take some pics of the plug on the truck and determine which half is damaged. I know its the driver side but can't remember right now if it is the pin side or the socket side. Another thought I have for this weekend is to cut apart my extra Tee connector and see if I can use it to make up a replacement for the broken half of the plug. Best regards, Mark |
