'05+ taillights in a 98 ranger

'05+ taillights in a 98 ranger

I have a 98 ranger with the three bulb set up, and i have a set of two bulb taillights that are going in the truck. what do i have to do to convert it to a two bulb set up? is there a kit or just wires i need to change?

Thanks Maurice, BTW, i dont have a trailer towing package on my truck so no hitch or wiring. will that change how i have to do this? i dont have the little black box you are talking about

You have to buy the little black box.

the black box is a purchased item from an auto parts store. It plugs into the stock wiring and comes with instructions on how to install it.....i think they run roughly $20-$30....

It connects at the rear of your truck. Should be able to get it at your local auto parts store.

you DO NOT need the trailer adaptor kit on the 98's.
i posted that in the howto but no one seen it.

if you look up under the bumper on your truck, kinad up by the bed, theres a plug with a gray cap over it.

figure out what wires are what and run a wire to each tail light.
its cheap and simple on the 98-99's.
