"Advanced" door ajar fix?
I keep spraying the door sensor with wd-40 as the posts say, but I will drive, hit a bump and the door ajar light comes on. Drives me nuts! I have to stop and slam my door again.
Is there a way to disconnect this sensor and fool the truck into thinking the door is always closed? BTW - only happens on the drivers side suicide door. |
Take the connector off that switch and see if the light is on.
If it is, cut and bend a piece off wire and connect the two pins. Pretty sure there's only two wires. If there's three, experiment. Insulate the jumper well so it can't short anywhere, secure it. Best I can tell you, off the top of my head. Mine's 2 door. It's cold up here in Morgantown, WV. |
do a search on door trigger theres a thread i made that someone posted a how to replace the door trigger (sensor in the door) The sensor is actually in the driver door connected to the latch
|
there are also door ajar switches in the suicide doors in the bottom latch-my 2 little doors needed latch adjustments when closing to make the door ajar light work properly
