Air Bag

Is there a way to see if the airbags have been discharged? Or, is there a safe way to pull off the panel that covers the airbag on the passenger side? One of the previous owners of my ranger put that "tweed" stuff on a bunch on the interior panels and I want to take it off. I am just a little weary of pulling off the passenger side airbag cover. Thanks for your help

you cant pull the actual trim panel off the airbag but you can pull the whole module out just disconnect the battery and wait 5 mins but be careful!!!
