Trucks Dead, need help!
My offroad lights stopped working last night and i know why. The positive battery terminal connector has a stripped nut on it and the connecter is not tight on the battery. Now can i just replace the connector or do i need an entire new wiring harnes? If i just need a connector, i dont think the cable is going to be long enought for me to cut the two large red wires and splice them HELP!!!!!!!!!!! IM really pissed off at this thing now....

How could replacing a terminal be only a temperoray fix....
EDIT: i'm a moron lol. On my truck I have so much **** hooking up to the battery, that it wasn't tightening down enough.
So instead of replacing it here's what you do. Remove the factory bolt and leave the stripped out nut on the terminal (you have to, it's welded). Go to any hardware/home improvement store and buy a bolt 2 washers and a nut. Make sure the bolt is small enough to fit through the factory nut thats on the terminal. Then install the terminal back onto the battery with a washer on each side.
Also, if you have other accessories hooked to the battery, you can get a longer bolt and an extra nut and install all of those inbetween the first nut, and tighten them on with the second.

The battery terminals on my old truck corroded till the nut had no chance of coming out. I went to o'reileys with the entire cable to see if they stocked it, and they said it was a dealer only part. Having gone to the dealer for parts a few times, I wasn't about to pay their prices for a simple battery cable so I went ahead and just bought new terminals. They sell some battery goo that you put on the wire when you put it on the new terminal and then just tighten it up. Cost maybe $5-$8 and it's been working for a long time now. I'd at least try that before ya buy a whole new cable..
EDIT: that works too.. redneck engineering at its best!
