Dashboard Screen, Truck Mounted Mp3/Radio
I haven't been on R-F in a while and remember someone who placed a computer-type monitor in the dashboard of their truck.
I would like to place a touchscreen monitor into mine to use as my radio/mega mp3 player.
First of all. Specifications:
-What is the height & width of the panel where the radio goes in a 2002 Ranger?
-How much room is behind that panel when the radio is removed?
-How would I run a radio through a computer so that I could use the touchscreen as an mp3 player (windows media player) and also switch to the radio.
My idea is to place a hard drive under the dash and wire it into the truck's power supply with a usb input to transfer music.
-How would I "plug" the speakers into the harddrive?
Any questions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

Pioneer has released a USB adapter for their head units. and also some of them have it built in. Also check the Navigation/DVD players. If it isnt set up with the usb you could wait for them to come out and you wont need to fill all of that space. Plus Pioneers stuff has a waranty. And its made to fit.
