Another Dome Light Question - Light Connectors

1998 Ranger 4x4 3.0L
We are working on the interior. When removing the dome light, we have the units shown below. I was just wondering what they are, if anything, beyond just power and ground to the light. Any additional electronics that work with the light or GEM, or just fancy connectors?

Black wire is ground. Green with orange is power. Dome light screws into those fancy connectors.

Yep. Mounting screws provide power & ground to the light.

Thanks.

One related item: When we removed the lamp circuit board, there was a steel washer on top with a wire wrapped around the circuit board.

Any guess to its purpose?

Check with a volt meter. On my 1996, the wire in back is switched by the doors and instrument illumination switches, while the one in front is always on 12V so you can turn on the dome light anytime. Ground is a screw directly into metal, (3 screws to mount the stock dome light assembly)
