Another E -fan Question (searched)

I installed my Efan this weekend, and all went well, but I noticedthe fan will stay on, and continue to run, after I shut off the engine. Its like its still trying to cool it down, and its shut off. Is this normal, or did I mess something up?

I Searched, and didnt find anything...

Thank you!

where did you get your controller? can you scan a copy of the wiring diagram for it and post it up?

you might have the ignition wire hooked up to a constant hot...

My flex-a-lite controller will keep power on for 30seconds after ignition is turned off.

Not sure why.. but it's designed that way.

The wire going to the temp sensor should be hot only when the ignition is on. The wire going to the fan (through the relay) should be straight from the battery.

I ran mine like that for a while where it was on or off based on temperature because it wasn't on an ignition wire. It never drained the battery.

Rich, I suspect yours is the same way. Not sure that was the intended installation.

Yeah its not draining my battery, but its just kinda odd I thought that it would remain on (5mins approx.) until it cools the engine down.

Ill check the wiring and see whats up.

heres the flex a lite install instructs. It doesn't specify whether the fuzed 12 volt source is hot all the time or hot with ignition on. Its easy to conclude that one way would leave it on til it cools down and the other would turn it off when the key is off.

it says connect the + connection (there is a connection on the controller that is labled +) to a 12v ignition source so the fan doesn't run with the ignition off. It is a bolded note under #2 on mandatory connections...
