ATC Light

Hey Kids,

2011 Ranger 4X4 Supercab 4.0 Engine 145K Miles. The truck is a tank and this is my second Ranger.

Tonight on the way home from Thanksgiving dinner, my Advanced Traction Control Light came on. I was on a parkway doing 75 mph, the ground was dry, normal driving and about 25 miles into my 48 mile trip, the light came on and stayed on. Turning on and off the Traction Control button did nothing to affect the ATC light.

The manual says if this comes on and stays on that I should take it to the dealer immediately to have checked. The manual also gave me no clue to what could be wrong, nor did it say if the vehicle is safe to drive, which is my primary concern.

I am supposed to make a 500 mile trip this weekend, is the vehicle safe to drive although the light is on?

Thanks for your help in advance and happy thanksgiving!
TK
