Those of you with e-fans, what controller/temp probes are you guys running?

 

I'm running an adjustable thermostatic fan control made by imperial with the probe that pushes into the radiator

 

are you running that on a taurus fan? Low or High speed? P/N? Im thinking about using a 200/180 threaded sensor with 80A fuses for H and L speeds. So far my ScanGuage reads 200-205F once at operating temp, so that sensor should do it.

 

yeah its on a taurus fan I'm using the a 75a relay and only using high speed on the fan and a 180 degree thermostat at operating temperature I'm at between 185-190. i bought the fan control at advanced auto parts for 40$ the part number is 226204 it is rated for 30 a so i used it turn the 75a relay that powers the fan on

 

Smart man on using the 30A to turn on the 75A! I meant 80A relays, not fuses on my previous post btw. Any problems at all with your setup? Im thinking I'll have the low speed come on with the sensor and hi speed manually. So I'll go with a 3 position toggle, on auto low, off, on hi manually

 

nah i haven't had any problems with the current setup just make sure to use 10 gauge wire to power the fan i have a manual override switch to turn the fans off if i cross deep water

 

will be using 10ga as much as possible, breakers, solder and shrink wrap. Im looking at some relays with plugs that would make for a clean install as well. As far as your relay, did you use a 4 or 5 pin?

yeah i have one from the battery to the fan control switch

 

but fuse or breaker? I dont know what size I should use for each is why I ask

 

i got a 35 amp fuse between the battery and the fan control and the 75a relay is wired to the battery
