Auto start stop intermittent

On my newly purchased used 2021 Lariat, the auto start stop is intermittently not functioning, even though I didn’t deactivate it with the switch on the console. I found by going through the menu options on the left display that it will show “ Engine running due to battery charging” while I am stopped. And then when I accelerate the display changes to “Engine running normally” once I am moving. This indicates that maybe the battery state of charge is inadequate to allow the engine to stop at traffic lights. So I am wondering if the battery may be starting to fail, or maybe the alternator is not charging the battery enough. The vehicle starts up with no indication of a weak battery, and otherwise seems to working fine. Of course, I’ve only owned the vehicle for a few weeks so I am still getting used to all this technology. This condition does not occur all the time. Sometimes it works fine, which is really confusing. Any words of wisdom is appreciated.
